Adelaide Holocaust Museum Farewells Chief Executive Officer Annetay Henderson-Sapir

The Adelaide Holocaust Museum announces that Chief Executive Officer Annetay Henderson-Sapir has decided she will step down from her position on 2 July 2026.

Since commencing as CEO in March 2024, Ms Henderson-Sapir has led the Museum through a period of significant growth and transformation. Her leadership has overseen all Museum operations during the extensive redevelopment of the Wakefield Street premises, including the continuation of off-site education programs throughout the renovation period.

Greg Adams, Chair of the Board of the Adelaide Holocaust Museum, said, “Annetay has provided exceptional leadership during one of the most significant periods in the Museum’s history. Her professionalism, vision and dedication have ensured that the Museum not only continued to operate throughout the redevelopment, but emerged stronger and better positioned for the future.”

Mr Adams continued, “Annetay successfully guided the completion of the transformational capital redevelopment of Fennescey House, while also strengthening the Museum’s operational foundations through the implementation of important organisational systems and processes. Her work in setting a vision for our new exhibitions, securing grant funding, and building strong relationships across government, community and philanthropic sectors will make lasting contributions to the Museum.”

Annetay said, “I am proud to have led the Museum as it has scaled up and transformed in the last two years.  It has been a privilege to work with committed staff, volunteers and many supporters.  I am excited to see the Museum continue to have a positive impact into the future.”

Under Ms Henderson-Sapir’s leadership, the Museum expanded its capacity to deliver Holocaust education and continued to advance its mission of inspiring visitors to address antisemitism, discrimination, racism and other forms of hate.

Mr Adams added, “On behalf of the Board, staff, volunteers and broader Museum community, we thank Annetay for her commitment, integrity and tireless efforts. We are deeply grateful for her contribution and wish her every success in the future.”

The Board will commence a national hiring process for the role of Chief Executive Officer.
